Inter Milan and Italy legend, two-time European Cup winner
Sandro Mazzola spent his entire 17-year senior career at Inter Milan, scoring 158 goals in 565 matches and winning four Serie A titles and two European Cups as a star of Helenio Herrera's Grande Inter. He scored twice in the 1964 European Cup final as Inter beat Real Madrid 3-1, won the 1968 European Championship with Italy and reached the 1970 World Cup final. He finished second to Johan Cruyff in the 1971 Ballon d'Or. The son of Grande Torino captain Valentino Mazzola, who died in the 1949 Superga air disaster, he died in the night of September 18 to 19 at the age of 83.
