Deaths Per Second ("we", "us", or "our") is a UK-based website at deathspersecond.com. These terms cover your use of the site and any purchase you make from us. By using the site or buying a product, you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. Using the Site

The site is free to use. Our statistics are estimates based on published sources such as the WHO and the UN, and live counters show averages spread over time, not real-time reports of individual deaths.

Tools such as the Death Clock, Life Clock and Risk Calculator are for education and reflection only. They are not medical advice, diagnoses or predictions about any individual. If you are worried about your health, speak to a doctor.

2. Buying the When I'm Gone Planner

• ●What you get: a fillable 42-page PDF planner, as described on the When I'm Gone page.
• ●Price and payment: a one-time payment of $7.99 (US dollars), processed securely by Stripe. Your bank may convert this to your local currency. We never see or store your card details.
• ●Delivery: after payment you are taken to a download page, and a download link is also emailed to the address you gave at checkout. If neither arrives, contact us and we will send it again.
• ●Your licence: you may use, print and copy the planner for yourself and your family. Please do not resell it, share it publicly or distribute it as your own.

3. Not Legal or Financial Advice

The planner is a personal organisation workbook. It is not a will or any other legal document, and it does not give legal, financial, medical, tax, insurance or estate-planning advice. For those decisions, speak to a qualified solicitor, lawyer or financial adviser.

4. Refund Policy

If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason, email us within 14 days of buying and we will give you a full refund. You don't need to give a reason.

Please send your request to contact@deathspersecond.com from the email address you used at checkout, or tell us that address so we can find your order. Refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe and usually appear within 5 to 10 working days, depending on your bank.

If the file is faulty, won't open, or doesn't match its description, contact us at any time, even after 14 days. We will send you a working copy or refund you.

5. Content and Copyright

The site's text, design, tools and products belong to Deaths Per Second. You are welcome to quote our statistics or share our pages, as long as you link back to the original page. The underlying data belongs to the sources we cite.

6. Our Responsibility to You

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or online. We are not responsible for decisions made using the site's statistics or tools. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if you are a UK consumer.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep any consumer protections that the law of your own country gives you.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones in place when you made it.
