Chiaki Ishii

Chiaki Ishii was a Japanese-born judoka who moved to Brazil in 1964 and became a naturalised Brazilian in 1969. He won bronze at the 1971 World Championships, Brazil's first world judo medal, and bronze in the under-93kg category at the 1972 Munich Olympics, the country's first Olympic judo medal. He also won four Pan American titles. The Brazilian Judo Confederation confirmed his death at the age of 85 without giving a cause, Metrópoles reported.
