Luděk Mikloško made almost 400 appearances in goal for West Ham United between 1990 and 1998 after joining from Baník Ostrava, and supporters sang his name long after he left the club. He represented Czechoslovakia at the 1990 World Cup and finished his playing career at Queens Park Rangers. In December 2024, three years after his cancer diagnosis, he announced that he would stop further treatment. West Ham announced that he died on September 14 at the age of 64.
